Noni Madueke has revealed he is working closely with a Chelsea great to help him become more decisive in the final third.

The winger netted a well-taken brace in England Under-21s’ big win over Serbia on Thursday night.

Largely due to injury, that was Madueke’s first start since the previous international break and he was a menace at the City Ground even before his quick-fire second-half goals.

Madueke has highlighted the impact of England Under-21s assistant manager Ashley Cole. The Blues legend has passed on plenty of useful advice to the 21-year-old, who is determined to start showing his best form in a Chelsea shirt as well as an England one.

'Ash takes a very personal approach with bettering my game,’ explained Madueke.

‘I'm extremely good in one-on-one situations, but I could probably score and assist more, so he's on me with that type of stuff.

'I got two good finishes against Serbia - one more like the goals I usually score, and one one-touch finish, so I'm proud.

'One thing I've got to add to my game is the easier goals, the one-touch goals - that's what I'm trying to improve.

'I work very hard on the last bit. I know I go at such pace that sometimes I've got to calm down at the last moment, take a breath and then slot it away.'

England Under-21s play Ukraine tonight looking to make it three wins from three in qualifying for the next Euros in Slovakia.

Madueke was a key member of this summer’s triumphant squad and he hopes his time away with his country will help kickstart his season with his club.

'I love coming over here and showing everyone what I can do. It's a great squad, just as good as the last one.

'I've got a lot of belief in my ability and I'm sure things will click sooner rather than later. I think I've got it in me.'
