Xabi Alonso has made two changes to his Chelsea starting line-up for today’s London derby at Arsenal, with our captain returning to the side.

The Blues have a 100 per cent record so far this season, but face arguably our toughest test yet this afternoon, with a trip to the reigning Premier League champions Arsenal.

Emi Martinez continues between the posts against the club that first brought him to England, but there is a change to the defence ahead of him. Josh Acheampong comes back into the team alongside French duo Wesley Fofana and Maxence Lacroix. Levi Colwill is among the substitutes for this game.

There is another change in midfield, as our skipper Reece James comes in for Malo Gusto. The captain is expected to line up in the centre with Romeo Lavia, while Pedro Neto and Jorrel Hato continue on the flanks.

It is an unchanged front three for Chelsea, after Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro’s flying start to the campaign.

Geovany Quenda returns among the substitutes after missing the win over Brighton & Hove Albion, but the Blues are without Moises Caicedo at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have made one change from the team which won 1-0 at Aston Villa in their last match, as England defender Ezri Konsa replaces Cristhian Mosquera. Former Chelsea man Kai Havertz starts up front for the Gunners, with Noni Madueke on their bench.
