The Blues host Aston Villa in our second home cup tie in the space of four days, following the 6-1 victory over Middlesbrough in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Mauricio Pochettino initially made three changes to his team tonight, but was forced into a fourth when Levi Colwill suffered an injury during the warm-up. He has been replaced in our defence by Alfie Gilchrist, who was originally among the substitutes.

There is one other change in the defence from that big win on Tuesday, as Benoit Badiashile comes into the team for his first appearance since the Premier League win over Crystal Palace this time last month.

Ben Chilwell drops to the bench, meaning Badiashile will line-up in the back four alongside Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva and Gilchrist. Conor Gallagher returns to captain the side tonight from midfield, alongside Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Noni Madueke also comes into the team after scoring off the bench against Boro, while Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling retain their places. Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Broja are the other two who miss out on the starting XI today.

Academy goalkeeper Max Merrick replaced Gilchrist on the bench for his first inclusion in the matchday squad for our senior team.

Aston Villa have made two changes to the team which drew 0-0 with Everton in the Premier League last time out, right-back Matty Cash and midfielder Youri Tielemans coming into their team to replace Diego Carlos and Leon Bailey.
