With the aim of creating a strategy to enhance fan engagement and meet the needs of a digital first generation, CPO has appointed two new Directors: Harry Richards and Etienne Trevayne.

Harry commented: “As someone who’s been a Chelsea FC fan for as long as I can remember, joining the CPO Board is a real honour. It’s my chance to give back to the Club that’s meant so much to me over the years. With my experience in high-growth sports rights holders, I’m all in to ensure the CPO stays strong commercially and connects better with younger Chelsea fans. I’m really looking forward to working with the fantastic CPO board which has already been doing amazing work, and I hope to add my own touch to support the goals. Together, we’ll keep Chelsea’s traditions alive while embracing the new faces and voices in our fan community.”

Harry has recently joined the BWT Alpine F1 Team working in the area of commercial partnerships and previously was the Commercial Director for the Maserati MSG Racing Formula E team. He has been at the forefront of targeting and engaging a younger demographic of motorsport fans.

Etienne said: “Chelsea FC has always been a big part of my life and fostered a strong connection to my family and community. It’s no secret that football can bring people together and it’s been wonderful to watch CPO work hard over the last three decades in order to protect the future of the Club at its historic site. It’s a privilege to be working alongside the rest of the Board to represent our shareholder base of dedicated fans and I look forward to helping to explore new possibilities of building lifelong communities of supporters through social media. In today’s complex world, social media has super-charged human interaction: if nurtured correctly, I believe it can bring people together just like football has for over a century.”

Etienne is an English actor, musician, and company director. Originally working solely in the music business as a songwriter and record producer, he expanded into social media management and public speaking in 2010 and currently provides social media management for a handful of clients, as part of a portfolio career.

Ginette Gower, CPO Director said: “Harry’s digital marketing expertise, acquired through navigating the ever-changing landscape of motorsport, will be a valuable asset in reaching and engaging a younger audience effectively. Etienne has a finger on the pulse of social media and how to leverage platforms to engage with fans and amplify CPO’s presence across all generations of fans. We look forward to working with them both over the coming months.”

With these two appointments, CPO has now reached its maximum number of directors at eight.
