Marc Cucurella has urged his Chelsea teammates to follow up our dramatic win over Manchester United with a victory this afternoon at Sheffield United.

One of the games of the Premier League season ended in the Blues' favour on Thursday evening as a goal from Cole Palmer in the 101st minute secured a 4-3 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

An emotional high followed for head coach Mauricio Pochettino and his players. However, the focus then quickly shifted to undertaking recovery work and preparing for our trip to Bramall Lane.

A win for Chelsea this evening – the match kicks off at 5.30pm due to the Sheffield half marathon taking place earlier in the day – will put us within striking distance of the Europa League places.

And Cucurella insists the Blues must not become complacent against Sheffield United, who sit bottom of the Premier League table.

‘We need to be more stable,' he says. 'We need to win every week and we have an important game at Sheffield United that we must win. Otherwise, the three points [against Manchester United] were for nothing. So we need to keep building.

'A lot of games we have played better than the result shows, but this is football. We need to reduce these small mistakes to become a better team. We are young but we fight until the end and believe in our quality.'

Cucurella has started our last four matches after making his return from an ankle injury last month. He has performed well, scored his first goal for the Blues, and earned a second cap for Spain.

‘It’s not been an easy season because I was injured for a long period,' he explains. 'I had to do my best, work hard every day, and now I’ve had the possibility to play. I feel very good and we need to continue in this way and win the games, that is most important.’
