Erin Cuthbert praised the consistently high performance levels of her teammates after the Blues made it three victories in a week, with an impressive 8-0 victory over West Ham United on Sunday afternoon being the latest.

Chelsea beat Charlton Athletic to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup nine days ago and just three days later we earned a place in the Continental Cup final thanks to a 1-0 win away to Manchester United.

Emma Hayes’ side then produced an attacking masterclass to earn our biggest win of the season in front of a huge crowd at Kingsmeadow on Sunday.

Scottish international Cuthbert got herself on the scoresheet in the 8-0 win and admits she is excited to see where the Blues can go if they continue the form that has seen them go unbeaten for an impressive 12 months.

'The WSL is so tight, but we went up another level,’ she said.

'I was quite shocked given we got back in the early hours of Thursday so I thought there was going to be a bit of fatigue in our legs but it shows the quality and that we’re recovering well.

'It doesn’t matter if we have three games in a week, we’re still able to perform at the same level for all three games. It’s exciting and I Iove playing with this team.

Chelsea currently sit second in the table one point behind league leaders Manchester City and the Blues are in a good position as we have one game in hand. In just under three weeks the two sides will meet in the North-West for a top-of-the-table clash, but Cuthbert insists the Blues are taking it one game at a time.

'I want to win the league but to win the league you have to focus on the process. We need to focus on one game at a time and that’s what we’ve been doing.

'We’re unbeaten for 12 months so we need to keep showing our best every single game. It’s not about looking far ahead, it’s about focusing on now.

'We focused on West Ham, gave them the respect they deserved. We prepared the same way we prepared for Arsenal and we put on a good show.'

The Blues head north on Sunday to face Manchester United again, but this time it’s a WSL fixture.

Our next home game takes place on Wednesday 12 February for the visit of Birmingham City (kick-off 7pm) and four days later we welcome Liverpool in the FA Cup (2pm kick-off).
