Former Chelsea strikers Didier Drogba and Tore Andre Flo have been confirmed to take part in a charity match in Sydney to help those affected by the wildfires that have devastated parts of Australia.
Fires have been burning in the country since September, killing more than two dozen people and hundreds of millions of animals, destroying more than 2,000 homes and forcing thousands of people to evacuate the worst affected areas.
The match will take place on Saturday 23 May at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium to raise funds and honour thousands of brave volunteer firefighters and emergency services personnel.
All proceeds will be spent on the restoration and improvement of local football clubs and facilities in fire-affected areas nationwide.
Drogba and Flo are among a dozen internationals taking part in the #FootballForFires match, alongside David Trezeguet, Dwight Yorke, Ji-sung Park and former Blues goalkeeper Mark Bosnich.
