Chelsea Foundation has been empowering local students through creativity, technology and football…
Earlier this month, 75 secondary school students (Years 9 to 11) from six local schools took part in this year’s Digital Blue Showcase, an immersive event designed to bring technology to life through the universal language of football.
The event welcomed 27 industry experts from leading organisations including Autodesk, Microsoft, Meta and GreenTechCo LTD.
The Digital Blue Showcase invited students to explore the real-world relevance of digital skills through four hands-on workshops focused on Minecraft Education, robotics, 3D design and generative AI.
Each session aimed to spark curiosity, build confidence and highlight diverse career pathways within the tech industry.
A standout moment of the day was the student-led industry panel where pupils had the chance to question professionals about their careers, pathways into tech, and the growing importance of sustainability in the digital landscape.
Following the panel, a structured networking activity gave young participants the chance to connect directly with professionals, gaining real insight into the skills, mindsets and opportunities shaping the future of technology.
One Microsoft volunteer said: ‘Seeing the students’ excitement and curiosity reminded me why experiences like this are so important.’
Building on this year’s success, Chelsea Foundation hopes to expand the Digital Blue Showcase to reach even more schools across the local community, continuing to empower young people to see themselves as the innovators, creators and problem-solvers of the future.
