Axel Disasi is readying himself for another difficult away game when we play Everton today, and the defender wants the Blues to prove our mettle on the road after the losses at Newcastle and Man United.

Prior to that we had won three away games on the spin, at Fulham, Burnley, and Tottenham, but the intensity and energy of our opponents proved too much at St James’ Park and Old Trafford.

The Toffees are in good form having got the better of Nottingham Forest and Newcastle in the past week, so Disasi is under no illusions about the size of the task ahead.

‘It will be my first time at this stadium, and when I speak to the guys they all say it’s a tough atmosphere there,’ he stated.

‘They beat Newcastle so they will be with a lot of confidence. We want to show we can win games like this, tough games. The two last away games we have lost, so we need to win this game.

‘We have to be more aggressive all over the pitch, and show we are growing day by day,’ added Disasi.

‘We have to build our confidence. We haven’t succeeded in winning two or three games in a row. When we do this it will bring us confidence. We have to stay positive and stay focused on the work we do.’

Disasi has started all but two of our Premier League fixtures this season following his arrival from Monaco.

Whether deployed at centre-back or right-back, the French international has been quietly impressive as he adapts to the rigours of English football. He assessed his start to life to Chelsea.

‘I have learned about the championship, about the football, about the culture. The rhythm is high, the pace, the aggressivity, the impact. That’s why I came here, I like all of those things.

‘I’m happy to be here, it was something I wanted. Every day I learn. The championship here is very good because you have a lot of spectators. The fans are very good. They live the game and to feel it on the pitch is very good.’
