Academy midfielder Kiano Dyer has signed his first professional contract with Chelsea.

An intelligent and talented midfielder, the 17-year-old has been a regular under Mark Robinson at Under-21 level this season, which is first as a full-time scholar.

Head of youth development and recruitment, Jim Fraser, said: ‘We are delighted Kiano has committed his long-term future to Chelsea.’

‘He has made a really positive start, consistently playing and training with the Under-21s, and we look forward to his continued development in the seasons ahead.’

Dyer joined Chelsea from West Bromwich Albion as an Under-14 and progressed quickly.

He marked his debut for the Under-18s – which came as a 15-year-old – with a goal in a 4-2 win against Birmingham in April 2022.

The following season, 2022/23, Dyer established himself as a regular for the Under-18s despite still being a schoolboy.

He made 18 appearances across league and cup, was handed his first appearance of the Under-19s in the UEFA Youth League and represented England at the European Under-17 Championship.
