Moises Caicedo's Ecuador suffered a 2-0 defeat to Italy while Chelsea youngster Leo Castledine found the back of the net for England's Under-19s during another busy day of international action.

Caicedo played the full 90 minutes with Ecuador unable to overturn an early opening goal from Roma's Lorenzo Pellegrini, before Inter Milan's Nicolo Barella completed the Italian's victory in New Jersey.

However, the Chelsea midfielder was a bright spark in his national side's final game of the international break. Winning the most duels (6), the most tackles (2) and completing the most dribbles (2), Caicedo will be disappointed not to have earned something from the exhibition match.

Meanwhile, at youth level Max Merrick, Bill Gee and Leo Castledine were all involved for the young Lions' Under-19 side as they narrowly lost out 3-2 to the United States of America, with the latter etching his name onto the scoresheet.

After conceding to the US early into proceedings, Sheffield Wednesday's Bailey Cadamarteri levelled the score in the match held in Morocco before the US restored their lead heading into the half-time break.

Despite the US snatching another immediately after the interval, England's Under-19s began their fight back through Castledine with less than 10 minutes on the clock as the 18-year-old headed home a looped cross.

However, despite sustained pressure at the end, the young Lions were unable to find a late leveller with Chelsea's Ronnie Stutter an unused substitute during the match.
