Former Blue Eden Hazard’s performances for us during the 2018/19 campaign have earned him a place in the FIFA FIFPro World 11.
The Belgian, now at Real Madrid, was voted into the team by his fellow professionals and was presented with his award at a star-studded ceremony in Milan on Monday night.
More than 23,000 players from around the world were asked to choose their best team by FIFPro, the players’ union, based on performances between July 2018 and July 2019. A 4-3-3 formation was used, with Hazard joined by Frenkie de Jong and Luka Modric in midfield.
Hazard was majestic for Chelsea last season, scoring 21 goals for us in all competitions, including a brace in the Europa League final against Arsenal in what proved to be his final match. He also supplied countless assists for his team-mates, and netted two of his very finest goals for us, the solo strikes against Liverpool and West Ham respectively.
It is the second consecutive year Hazard has made the 11, having also done so in 2018 when he was joined by Chelsea team-mate N’Golo Kante.
John Terry has been voted into the 11 the most times of any Chelsea player past or present, having been selected for five years in a row from 2005.
