Chelsea served up a feast of good football at Hull City on Friday night and set several notable landmarks in the process as our FA Cup journey rolls on.
The Blues beat the Tigers 4-0 with Pedro Neto bagging a maiden career hat-trick and Estevao Willian also finding the net after great work from Liam Delap.
A second straight four-goal margin of victory away to Championship opposition secures our place in the fifth round draw – which takes place tonight – and here we bring you eight interesting stats to emerge from our latest Cup triumph…
- Pedro Neto's hat-trick was the first by a Chelsea player on a Friday since George Hilsdon scored three against Middlesbrough in January 1909, and the first ever by a top-flight player in a match on Friday the 13th.
- Chelsea are the first Premier League side to see a hat-trick scored in consecutive away games in all competitions since Tottenham Hotspur in May 2017 (Harry Kane vs Leicester City and Hull City).
- Chelsea have won all nine of our FA Cup ties against Hull City. That is a new record for the most ties played by a team against another with a 100 per cent success rate in FA Cup history.
- Estevao has scored seven goals in all competitions for Chelsea this season, the most for the club by a teenager in a season in the Premier League era.
- For a 105th consecutive game in all competitions, Chelsea named a starting XI without a single player aged 30 or older. The second longest run by a Premier League team is 47 by Aston Villa between August 1997 and May 1998.
- Chelsea have now scored two or more goals in our last ten FA Cup matches against sides from a lower division.
- Chelsea are now unbeaten in our last 24 FA Cup matches when leading at half-time (W24, D0) dating back to our defeat to Bradford City in January 2015.
- The Blues have won eight of our last nine FA Cup matches in Yorkshire, losing the other 1-0 against Barnsley in March 2008.
