With Chelsea Football Club’s Fan Advisory Board into its third year of operation, an election of three supporters to act as representatives on the board for the next term of service will take place.

The Fan Advisory Board (FAB) engages regularly with the club and discusses topics, exchanges information and shares insights on potential decisions that impact Chelsea FC supporters.

The club can confirm today the process in place to determine who will serve in those positions for the subsequent three-year term.

Since the establishment of the FAB in 2023, there has been healthy dialogue and genuine collaboration to achieve more as a club together. We want to ensure that this continues both in the way the club and the FAB work together, and with a FAB truly representative of the fanbase.

To maintain consistency, the FAB will continue to consist of a mix of directly elected officials and representatives nominated by supporter groups and organisations. Individual supporters have the chance to stand for election providing they meet certain criteria.

How to stand

Elected persons are permitted to stand for two terms only which means the current representatives can seek election for one more term, should they wish to do so.

The candidates going forward into the election will be selected by a nominations process designed to ensure a diverse collection of supporters is on the voting form. This process, which has been agreed with the current co-chairs of the FAB, will be as follows:

Supporter groups

  • Chelsea Pitch Owners and the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust, as the two groups with the most shareholders/members, will be invited to nominate six individuals to stand for election from their existing shareholder/membership base.

  • Similarly, the Chelsea Supporters Group, the Chelsea Supporters Club and the Chelsea Disabled Supporters Association will be asked to nominate four individuals.

  • Following this nomination stage, Chelsea Football Club will review the candidates and select a minimum of two candidates to go forward for election from Chelsea Pitch Owners and the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust, and one each from the Chelsea Supporters Group, the Chelsea Supporters Club and the Chelsea Disabled Supporters Association. The review process will include security checks.

Individual supporters

  • Any individual supporter who is either a Chelsea season ticket holder for men’s or women’s matches, or a member*, may put themselves forward for election providing they obtain more than 30 nominations from fellow supporters who are season ticket holders (men’s or women’s games) or members. Those who achieve the necessary nominations will be contacted to confirm they are willing to stand.

  • Following this initial stage, the club will review the candidates and select a minimum of two to go forward for election. As with the supporter group nominations, the review process will include security checks.

  • The form for nominating a candidate is below.

In total from this process, there will be a maximum of 12 candidates in the election. The currently serving elected officials on the FAB can stand again for election without the need to be nominated.

Representative from supporters of Chelsea Women

In addition to the two representatives that will be selected by the above process, in an adjustment to the previous structure of the FAB, the third will be selected as follows to represent the Chelsea Women fanbase:

Supporter group

  • The Chelsea Women Supporters Group, Kingsmeadow Official Supporters Group will be invited to nominate four individuals to stand for election from their existing membership base.

  • Following this nomination stage, the club will review the candidates and select two from each group to go forward for election. The review process will include security checks.

Individual supporters

  • Any individual supporter who is a season ticket holder for Chelsea Women matches may put themselves forward for election providing they obtain more than 15 nominations from fellow supporters who are either season ticket holders (men’s or women’s games) or members. Those who achieve the necessary nominations will be contacted to confirm they are willing to stand.

  • Following this initial stage, the club will review the candidates and select a minimum of two to go forward for election. As with the supporter group nominations, the review process will include security checks.

  • In total, there will be a maximum of nine candidates in the election.

  • The form for nominating a candidate is below.

Following the election process, the three representatives chosen by the vote will join the FAB alongside the four additional members who have another year to serve before the next nomination stage. Part of the remit for the three elected members is to continue to act as supporter advisors to the board. The chair of the Fan Advisory Board will be decided between the three elected members.

Season ticket holders of either the men’s or women’s team as well as those with either a True Blue or CFC Blue membership will be eligible to vote (from the date of announcement). *All candidates must possess the same eligibility to run for election and must be 18 years of age or over.
