The Barclays FA Women’s Super League have nominated Emma Hayes for Manager of the Month and Guro Reiten for Player of the Month and you can cast your vote to help them win.
The Blues are unbeaten in the 2019/20 campaign having opened the season with a 1-0 victory in front of a bumper crowd at Stamford Bridge. Bethany England rifled a magnificent strike from 25 yards out after four minutes of play.
Hayes’ side showed resilience when we travelled to Brighton and Hove Albion having rescued a point with a last-minute equaliser thanks to Adelina Engman finishing from close range.
Chelsea then produced a clinical 4-0 display against Bristol City, with Reiten netting an early brace. Ji So-Yun and Sophie Ingle also added to the score line.
Other manager nominees are: Nick Cushing (Manchester City), Karen Hill/ Juan Amoros (Tottenham Hotspur) and Joe Montemurro (Arsenal).
The award is decided by a combination of votes from a panel and fans, and you can vote for Hayes here.
Reiten has made an impressive start to life at Chelsea and her superb form in the league has been recognised as she is one of four contenders to win the award.
The Norway international has boosted Hayes’ already talented side and brings pace, skill and an eye for goal with her. Her two quick-fire goals inside 10 minutes against the Vixens gave the league a flavour of what is to come throughout the season from the talented 25-year-old as we embark on a quest to win the title for a third time.
Vote for Reiten as your Player of the Month here.
Other players shortlisted are: Pauline Bremer (Manchester City), Chloe Kelly (Everton) and Leah Williamson (Arsenal).
The Blues return to Kingsmeadow on Sunday 13 October where we host reigning WSL champions Arsenal, with a 3pm kick-off. Tickets for the London derby are priced at £9 for adults and £1 for junior (ages under 20) and senior fans (aged 65 or over).
