Scoring a stoppage-time winner in front of our fans at Stamford Bridge on his third anniversary at the club, Enzo Fernandez's joyous celebrations said it all.

The first half didn’t go according to plan as we found ourselves two behind at the break, before second-half goals from Joao Pedro, Marc Cucurella and Fernandez sealed another comeback victory. On reflection after the game, the Argentinian thought the final 3-2 win was well earned, and showcased Chelsea's quality.

When also asked about his dramatic late winner, he responded in typically unselfish fashion and spoke of his delight at being a Blue for three years.

‘I'm really pleased with the team's efforts,’ said Fernandez. ‘Nothing went well for us at all in the first half, but in the second period, we showed character and courage. I believe that we deserved to win the game because ultimately, we showed in the second half that we were the better side.

‘The truth is that I'm really proud of my three years here, because I arrived at a very difficult time for the club with many changes and coaches coming and going, but I'm happy with how things are going.

‘Even though there has been a recent change of coach, football is always like this. I try to adapt to whatever the team needs at any given moment to help the club. I always give my all every day to help my team-mates. I feel like I'm doing very well on a personal level, and hopefully we'll end this season with one or two trophies.’

Our number eight also pointed to a harmonious atmosphere in the camp under Liam Rosenior following the victory over West Ham. That result saw the new boss increase his tally to six wins from his opening seven matches at Chelsea.

‘The results under the new coach are there for all to see,’ continued Fernandez. ‘He hasn't been with us very long, and his ideas are already very clear. We're very happy with him and with the confidence he gives us every day. So, we'll continue along this path.'

One player who was missing at the weekend was Estevao, after he had returned to Brazil for personal reasons earlier in the week, and Fernandez added: ‘I’d like to send Estevao a message. Tell him that I send him my deepest condolences, that I support him, love him, and that we hope to see him here soon. The whole group is with him.’
