Enzo Fernandez has been named on the shortlist for the January EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month award.
The midfielder started all five of Chelsea’s Premier League matches as we made a strong opening to 2026. He has been absent from our line-up for just two league fixtures all season.
He led by example, captaining the side in two of those games, and made a big impact with three goals and an assist, including two dramatic late strikes.
Fernandez started January by netting our injury-time equaliser away at Manchester City, but that was just the start. He continued his good form by setting up Joao Pedro to open the scoring in a 2-0 win over Brentford, helping Liam Rosenior to a winning Premier League debut as Chelsea head coach.
The Argentinian then converted from the penalty spot to get our third of a 3-1 win at Crystal Palace, but saved the best for last. Having helped us fight back from two goals down to West Ham United at Stamford Bridge, it was Fernandez who popped up in added time again to complete the incredible comeback with the winning goal.
Voting for the January Premier League Player of the Month award opens at 11am on Thursday 5 February and you can cast yours for Enzo here now. The winner will be announced at 11am on Friday 13 February.
His rivals for the award are fellow nominees Yasin Ayari (Brighton & Hove Albion), Patrick Dorgu (Manchester United), Junior Kroupi (Bournemouth), Crysencio Summerville (West Ham United), Igor Thiago (Brentford), Harry Wilson (Fulham) and Florian Wirtz (Liverpool).
