By setting up Andrey Santos to score against Tottenham, Enzo Fernandez moved into the top three of Premier League players who have registered the most assists in all competitions since the start of last season.

Our no.8 had already fired us in front with a brilliant long-range strike when he guided Pedro Neto’s cross into the path of Santos, who calmly converted from six yards out.

It was Fernandez’s 24th assist across the 2024/25 and 2025/26 campaigns. In that timeframe, only Bruno Fernandes (39) and Mohamed Salah (32) have recorded more.

After Fernandez, Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers (23) is followed by the trio of Bukayo Saka, Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremy Doku (all 20).

Fernandez also ranks highly among Premier League players for combined goals and assists in the same two-season period.

With 24 goals over that time, the Argentine sits in sixth position with his combined 48 goal contributions.

The only players ahead of him are Erling Haaland, Salah, Fernandes, Ollie Watkins and Rogers, highlighting just what an influential presence Fernandez has been for the Blues in the past two seasons. Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer are not far behind.
