Enzo Maresca has confirmed Chelsea have no new injury concerns heading into tomorrow's Premier League clash with Bournemouth.
After a disappointing defeat to Leeds United on Wednesday evening, the Blues will look to get back to winning ways down on the south coast.
Bournemouth made a strong start to the campaign under Andoni Iraola, but the Cherries are winless in their last five top-flight matches and have slipped to 14th in the table.
We will travel to the Vitality Stadium without Moises Caicedo, who will serve the second game of his three-match domestic suspension after being sent off against Arsenal, and without Levi Colwill, Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia due to injury.
A small positive from our midweek clash at Elland Road was the return of Cole Palmer after two months on the sidelines due to a groin issue and a toe injury – the England international played the final 30 minutes of the contest.
Whether he features against Bournemouth remains to be seen, but at his pre-match press conference on Friday morning, Maresca confirmed the Blues have no fresh fitness concerns. 'Moi is suspended, but we don’t have any new injuries,' the Blues head coach responded when asked about the latest Chelsea team news.
Five changes were made to the Blues side against Leeds, with Wesley Fofana not included in the squad, Caicedo suspended and Malo Gusto, Blues skipper Reece James and winger Pedro Neto named among the substitutes.
That rotation is partly born out of the need to manage players' workload and fitness, as Maresca reiterated when facing the media.
He said: ‘Most of the rotation we do is because we have some players who, in this moment, are not able to play every three days. So the rotation we have done in the past, this is the reason why.'
He continued: ‘It’s [the schedule] the most difficult thing for me personally this season because, for many reasons, we have to make changes.
'We played two days ago, and we came back from Leeds yesterday afternoon and have a session this morning. Most of them cannot take part in the session because they need to recover, so we will try to prepare in the best way possible for tomorrow’s game.’
