Enzo Maresca has confirmed that he will be able to call upon the services of Estevao Willian and Liam Delap for Saturday’s clash with Aston Villa.

The Blues were without the duo for our draw at Newcastle in the Premier League last time out, but the pair have both trained this week and will be available for selection on Saturday.

We welcome Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge for our first game after Christmas, with Unai Emery’s in-form side occupying the space above us in the Premier League, albeit with a seven-point cushion heading into the fixture.

Maresca spoke to media at Cobham on Christmas Eve morning to preview the game, and begin by discussing the latest on the team news front.

Estevao is back and he is available for Saturday,’ our Italian head coach confirmed.

'Estevao and also Liam Delap. They are both back.

‘We didn’t know exactly how long Liam would be out for but he is back on Saturday, and we are happy to have both available.’

Cole Palmer made his return to action in recent weeks following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a groin – and then toe – issue.

The forward has had his minutes managed carefully since returning and Maresca stated that the England international is now ready to feature for 90 minutes against Villa, if required.

‘I think Cole is ready to play 90 minutes, yes,’ Maresca said of our No.10.

‘He played for an hour against Everton, then he did more than 70 minutes against Newcastle. So I think the progression is there, he’s feeling good and I think he could play for 90 minutes now.

‘It will be a very tough game for us and we will have to be at our best because Aston Villa are playing very well. They have a clear way of playing and they are very organised both on and off the ball.

‘They are full of confidence in this moment, but we are at home and we will be trying to get the three points as we always do. We will work hard and continue to grow.’
