Ahead of our Carabao Cup third round tie against Lincoln City, Blues head coach Enzo Maresca has stressed Filip Jorgensen will continue to help Chelsea whenever called upon.

Our latest domestic cup campaign begins this evening against League One opposition, and the Imps, who have been beaten just once this season in all competitions, will provide a stern test for the Blues.

We will make the long journey to Lincolnshire without goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, who was sent off in our Premier League defeat to Manchester United on Saturday after colliding with Bryan Mbeumo.

The Spaniard, who received the Golden Glove award after our Club World Cup triumph this summer, was dismissed four minutes into the contest at Old Trafford and apologised both privately to his team-mates and publicly to supporters after the game.

Maresca highlighted the important role Sanchez has played for the Blues this season and beyond before our trip to Lincoln, and emphasised that Jorgensen will be ready to step into the Chelsea side, if selected, at the LNER Stadium this evening.

He said: 'Rob for a long time has been very good. Unfortunately, he made a mistake the other day and he recognised it.

'I know he made a post on Instagram in public, but he also did so after the game in the changing room. He recognised it was a mistake. He is an intelligent person, and he recognised that.

'Filip is going to help us in the moments we need him.'
