Enzo Maresca has explained what Alejandro Garnacho will bring to the Chelsea squad after the 21-year-old completed a transfer from Manchester United.
Garnacho's switch from Old Trafford to Stamford Bridge was confirmed yesterday, and the Argentina international took his place in the stands to watch his new Chelsea team-mates record a 2-0 victory over west London neighbours Fulham.
The winger arrives with a wealth of experience beyond his tender years. Garnacho made 147 appearances for Manchester United's senior side across four seasons and has also won eight caps for Argentina.
He has also claimed silverware, lifting the FA Cup in 2024 after scoring in victory over Manchester City in the final, and then celebrating a Copa America triumph with his country later that summer.
It will not be until after the international break that Chelsea supporters will have the chance to watch Garnacho in action, but Maresca has detailed what he expects the Argentine to bring to the Blues' attack and the demands that he places upon our wingers.
He explained: 'When we are looking for a winger, we are looking for someone who is good one-v-one and who can attack and create something. Jamie Gittens [signed from Borussia Dortmund this summer] is that profile, and we will see with Garnacho.
'He is a good winger in one-versus-one and he can create things. This is the way I see things.'
