Enzo Maresca hopes the atmosphere created by the Chelsea supporters during our win over Barcelona will be repeated when Arsenal visit Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Blues faithful were in fine voice throughout our Champions League clash with the La Liga champions on Tuesday, and helped us claim a memorable 3-0 victory.

An own goal from Barcelona defender Jules Kounde put Maresca’s side ahead before a stunning solo goal from Estevao Willian was added to by a strike from Liam Delap in the second period.

There were scenes of jubilation across Stamford Bridge following the full-time whistle; deserved reward for the efforts of those on and off throughout the 90 minutes.

‘The performance was top,’ Maresca said after a victory that has moved the Blues up to seventh in the league phase table.

‘Beating Barcelona 3-0 at home was a nice feeling for the fans. Hopefully, we can get them more nights like this.’

The next opportunity to do that comes on Sunday when Arsenal, currently top of the Premier League, make the trip across London.

And Maresca says another intimidating atmosphere is required.

‘The environment [against Barcelona] was top,’ the Chelsea head coach explained. ‘Now we have another big game [against Arsenal] and it’s for this reason we will need the same environment on Sunday.’
