The Brazilian’s Chelsea debut was a lively one. Enzo Maresca brought him on early in the second half against Crystal Palace, and Estevao was soon in the thick of the action, dribbling with speed and skill.

He wasn’t afraid to get stuck in, either. The physical demands of the Brazilian league will clearly stand the 18-year-old in good stead as he acclimatises to English football. No wonder Estevao was in such high spirits after his latest career landmark.

‘I feel so good,’ he grinned.

‘It’s an incredible experience to be here playing in the Premier League and I’m just so grateful I have been given the opportunity here.

'I have adapted a lot quicker than I thought I would thanks to the manager, the coaching staff and all my new team-mates. They have all helped me so much and given everything to me since I arrived to make me feel comfortable and give me confidence. Everyone has helped me adapt to the game, but also the new conditions here.'

‘I’m enjoying every minute and I’m not trying to make things happen faster,’ he added.

‘I’m just trying to take it day by day and enjoy it as much as I can.’

It is clear Estevao has already developed an impressive understanding with Cole Palmer, and he says he has ‘connected well’ with our number ten since they started working together.

It may be very early days in Estevao’s Blues career, but there is plenty to get excited about. The attacker knows he must stay grounded, though, and then the results will come and he will reward the club and its supporters.

‘The way the fans have treated me since I arrived has been incredible, so I am going to do my best to make them happy,’ he said.

‘I am just going to keep working hard every single day. I want to win matches and if we do that, we will win trophies as well.’
