Only one member of the Chelsea squad can say they featured in every game of our invincible Women's Super League season. That is Hannah Hampton, whose achievements had yet to sink in as the Blues celebrated on the Stamford Bridge pitch.
Hampton has cemented herself as the Blues' first-choice goalkeeper this term. She started every league game and kept 13 clean sheets, the joint-most of any stopper in the division.
Her second WSL trophy lift was also a little different from her first. Last season, the England international was among the substitutes on the day we overcame Manchester United at Old Trafford.
This time around, Hampton played the full 90 minutes against Liverpool to ensure we ended the campaign as unbeaten champions.
'I don't think it has fully sunk in yet,' said the 24-year-old amid our title celebrations. 'We're so happy that we've won the league.'
'We've performed when we needed to perform this season, and there have been times when we've needed to dig in deeper to find that result. We've done that today [against Liverpool] so we're happy.'
Hampton did her part against Liverpool, with another shutout recorded. Yet it wasn't until second-half stoppage time that the Blues secured victory. Aggie Beever-Jones was our goalscorer as she fired home after being released by Ashley Lawrence.
Yet rather than celebrate wildly after breaking the deadlock against a resilient Liverpool side, the Blues stopper admits she felt the fatigue of a monumental effort this season.
'I think it felt more like relief,' Hampton said. 'You could see a few of us just fell to the floor as soon as the goal went in. Aggie was off celebrating on her own because everyone was too tired to join her!
'You could see we dominated the game, but the goal was the icing on top of the cake. We all played our part today, and that's been the case for the whole season. It's why we've stayed unbeaten.'
