Chelsea will begin our quest to win the FA Cup with a repeat of last season’s tie at this stage of the competition – a game against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.

The third-round draw, with the Premier League and Championship sides joining the competition, was made on Monday evening. The Blues, the eight-time winners of this competition, most recently in 2018, went out to Manchester United in the fifth round last season, having beaten Forest and Sheffield Wednesday prior to that. Alvaro Morata scored two second-half goals to win the Forest game.

We have been drawn against Forest in the FA Cup four times in total and have progressed on each occasion. We won 3-0 in the fourth round in 2007 and 2-0 at the same stage in 2000. Both those seasons we went on to lift the trophy.

Back in 1934 it took a replay to win another fourth-round tie.

This season’s third-round ties, which include a Merseyside derby and Arsenal hosting Championship leaders Leeds United, take place across the weekend of 3 to 6 January. Chelsea's fixture date will be announced in due course, as will ticket details.
