Chelsea Under-18s booked our place in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with an impressive 2-1 victory over Brentford, as goals from Kobe Barbour and Chizaram Ezenwata sealed a hard-fought London derby success.

It was a fiery start to our 2025/26 FA Youth Cup campaign, with a trip across west London to Wheatsheaf Park providing a stern early test. Despite enjoying the bulk of possession, the breakthrough proved elusive before the interval, as Brentford defended resolutely and threatened on the counter.

The deadlock was broken shortly after half-time - and in style. Reggie Walsh’s clever looped delivery found substitute Barbour, who reacted quickly to flick his finish beyond the goalkeeper and give us a deserved lead.

Our advantage was soon doubled through Under-18s top scorer Ezenwata, whose superb solo effort capped a dominant spell from the young Blues. Brentford pulled a goal back late on via a Beau Redknapp free-kick, but our side held firm to see out the contest and confirm progression.

The victory secures our place in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup, where we will face Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium at 7pm on Wednesday 14 January.
