It’s almost time for our FA Youth Cup fourth-round clash as we prepare to take on Reading. Chelsea Under-18s have been putting in the hard work at Cobham and we’ve captured some of our favourite shots from training as the squad focuses on the next step in the prestigious competition.
Our FA Youth Cup campaign began with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Brentford in the third round at Wheatsheaf Park. Second-half goals from Kobe Barbour and Chizaram Ezenwata secured the win, ensuring Beau Redknapp’s free-kick for the Bees was just a consolation and sending us through to the fourth round.
Reading arrive following a dramatic 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough, which they won 7-6 on penalties. The side, who also compete in the Under-18 Premier League South, come into the tie after a challenging defeat against Southampton.
Meanwhile, we head into the clash in confident form, extending our unbeaten league run to 10 games after a 3-1 victory over Birmingham City at Cobham at the weekend, with three different players on the score sheet.
As the countdown continues to our away fixture at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, the squad put the finishing touches on their preparations for the Reading game, which supporters in the UK can watch live for free on the Chelsea Official App and website.
