Chelsea goalkeeper Femke Liefting will spend this season on loan at Newcastle United.
The young goalkeeper joined Chelsea in January 2025, signing on a three-and-a-half-year deal from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
On the international stage, Liefting represented her country at the U-17s and U-19s European Championships, before playing at the U-20s World Cup in Colombia in the summer of 2024.
Liefting earned two call-ups to the Dutch senior squad before her move to Chelsea, by which stage she had made over 50 club appearances in the Dutch league.
Unfortunately, the youngster suffered a foot injury soon after signing for the Blues, but has now returned to fitness and will look to gain further experience in the WSL 2 with Newcastle United.
The Magpies have made it to the second tier of women's football in England thanks to back-to-back promotions under coach Becky Langley.
Everyone at Chelsea wishes Femke every success at Newcastle, and we look forward to seeing her progress next season.
