Enzo Fernandez invited Daddy Yankee to see him and the Blues in UEFA Champions League action at Stamford Bridge during Wednesday night's win over Pafos and we managed to catch up with the pair pitchside after the final whistle.
Two Latin American stars came together at the Bridge on Wednesday evening, when Fernandez invited Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee to come and enjoy a Champions League night under the floodlights in west London.
Daddy Yankee, whose hits include the iconic Gasolina which helped introduce Reggaeton to a worldwide audience, got to enjoy a crucial 1-0 win for the Blues, sealed by a late goal from Fernandez's fellow South American Moises Caicedo, before meeting up with Enzo and Alejandro Garnacho for a quick chat after the final whistle.
'It’s the first time for me here at Chelsea,' said Daddy Yankee. 'Enzo invited me, so a massive thank you to you, Enzo, my bro. Puerto Rico is home, Argentina is home, and London too.'
Even though the Grammy Award-nominated artist to the Bridge had just seen the Chelsea team emerge victorious on the biggest stage in the Champions League, Fernandez was quick to recognise he too was in the presence of a global star.
'I'm really happy he is here,' added our midfielder. 'He’s a global superstar and it was one of my dreams because I’ve listened to his music since I was a little kid. In Argentina, they love and respect him, so I am really happy he is here.'
