Young midfielder Niamh Charles has received her maiden senior call-up for England Women as five Chelsea players are included in Phil Neville’s latest squad.

The group will meet up at St George’s Park for a training camp later this month as Neville assesses his vast options ahead of upcoming tests on the continental and global stage. It is their first get-together since March.

Charles is a recent signing from Liverpool and made her Blues debut as a late substitute in our Community Shield victory over Manchester City at Wembley in August. She has previously represented England at junior level, featuring at the Women’s European Championship and Women’s World Cup at the Under-17 age group.

Joining her in the squad are club colleagues Carly Telford, Millie Bright, Bethany England and Fran Kirby, the latter making her return to the international stage following illness.

There will be no fixtures for the squad when they reconvene next week for the first time for six months, with Neville placing his focus on longer-term preparations for the home Euros in 2022 and Team GB's involvement at the Tokyo Olympics next summer.

A larger squad will work closely at the FA's headquarters in Burton across a seven-day camp which will also include an 11-versus-11 training game behind closed doors.
