Our final preparations for tomorrow's trip to Burnley took place at Cobham this morning before Mauricio Pochettino and his Chelsea squad began their journey to Turf Moor.
Chelsea make the long trip to Lancashire with momentum behind them after back-to-back victories. The first came against Brighton and Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup, the second was recorded in the Premier League on Monday night at Fulham.
With an international break to come after the fixture, the focus will firmly be on returning from Burnley with another three points. And our prospects were boosted by the news Moises Caicedo and Mykhailo Mudryk are available to feature.
"Yes, both are in the squad,' Pochettino confirmed in his pre-match press conference. 'Then I will decide if they will be available to start or not.'
Pochettino still has to contend with a handful of long-term absentees, which now includes Ben Chilwell. The England international suffered a hamstring injury in our Carabao Cup victory over Brighton and Hove Albion and a return date has not been set.
Club captain Reece James also misses the fixture. The right-back is in the final stages of his comeback from injury but is unable to feature against the Clarets due to suspension.
'He was training with the group; it's a shame he is suspended and banned for tomorrow,' said Pochettino.
'We are really happy in the way he is recovering after his injury. He's doing well. Hopefully, after the international break, when he is not suspended, he will have the possibility to be involved.'
In the absence of James and Malo Gusto, who has been serving a three-game ban due to the red card received against Aston Villa, Marc Cucurella has been filling in at right-back. The Spaniard has impressed in the unfamiliar role.
'He is doing well and helping the team,' said Pochettino. 'Against Brighton and Fulham he played at right-back and we won. It does not mean the position is fixed and he will play every single game there.
'It is about performing, the other two players need to show they are in condition to fight for the place and to show they deserve to play.'
Twenty-four hours after we secured our victory at Craven Cottage on Monday evening, Burnley claimed their first win since returning to the Premier League by defeating Luton Town.
It was a morale-boosting result for Vincent Kompany's side and Pochettino is under no illusion about the challenge that awaits us at Turf Moor.
'Every single game is important and tomorrow will be a tough game,' said the Blues boss. 'It is a team that runs a lot, that tries to play, and is doing well. It is going to be tough.
'After two victories it is important to keep thinking in the same way and improve. We were losing games and not getting what we deserve. The most important is the journey and we know very well that we need to keep improving.'
A big decision that Pochettino and his staff have had to make ahead of the fixture is who leads the Chelsea attack.
Nicolas Jackson scored on his last outing in blue – the win over Brighton – while Armando Broja netted against Fulham.
'We already took the decision,' Pochettino told the journalists at Cobham this afternoon.
'The players know. You can [try to] find information, but we have made the decision and you will see tomorrow.'
