The work at Cobham to prepare for Sunday’s massive Premier League game is approaching its conclusion after Enzo Maresca led his players through Friday’s session.

After today, there will be just one more session on Saturday before we head to the City Ground for a decisive final day of the Premier League season, knowing victory over Nottingham Forest would secure UEFA Champions League football at Stamford Bridge for next season.

Among those taking part in the session at a sunny Cobham on Friday was Trevoh Chalobah, fresh from receiving the news of his first call-up to the senior England squad. He will be one of five Blues linking up for the Three Lions, along with Levi Colwill, Reece James, Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer.

Also out on the training pitch were forwards Marc Guiu and Christopher Nkunku, who Enzo Maresca confirmed earlier in the day are potentially in line to make their return to action for Sunday’s match, following their recovery from injury.

That could give our attacking options a timely boost, going into a huge game away at Nottingham Forest, with Nicolas Jackson suspended.

The significance of the game hasn’t changed anything to our preparations, though, as the Blues look to continue the form which has seen us win six of our last seven matches.

‘I can see the players in exactly the same way they were for almost the whole season,’ said Maresca.

‘They are aware this is the game, an important game, the last one, and the most important one because if we are able to finish well it’s a good thing for everyone at Chelsea.

‘It’s a club where you need to win games and we have won many this season, but we need one more and it’s the most important one.'

Chelsea’s final Premier League fixture of the season against Nottingham Forest kicks off at 4pm and you can follow all the build-up, action and reaction as it happens in our Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea Match Centre, which will include minute-by-minute updates and live audio commentary.
