Work has stepped up at Cobham over the past two days as our players returned from international duty and began preparing for tomorrow's Premier League clash against Burnley at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino's side could make it five matches unbeaten in the top flight tomorrow afternoon – and a victory over the Clarets would continue our push toward the European places.

Burnley sit 19th in the Premier League and are fighting for Premier League survival. It's why Pochettino does not expect an easy afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

‘They are a team that plays with freedom, that runs a lot, and they are a very physical team with good, young players,' said the Blues head coach.

'It’s always going to be tough. For us, we need to be in a different place [in the Premier League] and we need to win and perform well. In the Premier League, you’re never going to find an easy game – and Burnley are a good team and an exciting team to watch. It’s going to be difficult.’

The fitness of several Chelsea players will be assessed ahead of the game. Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka sustained knocks while away with England and England Under-21s while Enzo Fernandez only returned to England yesterday after representing Argentina.

One positive has been the involvement of Moises Caicedo in training. The midfielder played for Ecuador during the break but was back at Cobham on Thursday with the first-team squad.

Mykhailo Mudryk also rejoined his Chelsea teammates at Cobham and will undoubtedly be buoyed by his role in helping Ukraine seal a place at this summer's European Championships.

Our No.10 helped his country overcome Bosnia Bosnia and Herzegovina in the play-off semi-finals before he scored a crucial late winner against Iceland in the final to seal Ukraine's place in the tournament in Germany.

Meanwhile, having returned from England duty, Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer took part in another session as they switched focus back to the Premier League.

Palmer has enjoyed a stellar campaign for the Blues following his summer arrival from Manchester City and he will be looking to add to the goal he scored against Burnley at Turf Moor tomorrow afternoon.

Gallagher also caught the eye in our first meeting with Vincent Kompany's side this season, it was the Academy graduate's perfectly weighted pass which was finished clinically by Raheem Sterling.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed much greater influence in the final third for the Blues since the beginning of February, with four goals scored and one assist claimed in his previous eight Chelsea matches.

Gallagher will hope to add to that tally at Stamford Bridge tomorrow afternoon.
