The Chelsea players returned to Cobham with a bounce in their step and a smile on their face following Monday's massive win.

The Blues had a well deserved day off to rest yesterday, after thrashing Everton 6-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday evening. Understandably after that result, spirits were high at Cobham.

‘An amazing performance,' said Mauricio Pochettino after the victory. 'I’m so happy and full credit to the players.

'It was the perfect game, I think. We scored six and kept a clean sheet – a dream come true!

‘The clean sheet is so important against a team that produces a lot and is very dangerous in offensive situations and set-pieces.

'The team was fantastic. We showed good spirit from the beginning which makes us very pleased.’

Pochettino's squad got to work in the gym and on the training pitch, as attention shifts ahead to Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City, while Axel Disasi turned a few heads with a new look for Wembley.

His fellow Frenchman Malo Gusto summed up why the good mood around Cobham following Everton has arrived at the perfect time ahead of our semi-final

‘Everton was an important game and we were very happy to win at the Bridge. We have to get more confidence for Saturday because it’s going to be an important game for us.

‘We are young but we have talent. We just have to keep pushing together. Saturday will be an important game for us. We know the FA Cup is the last trophy we can win.

‘So we have to work this week, with our confidence, and try to keep pushing ahead of this type of game. We are going to Wembley to win.’

Our Monday goalscorers were among those training at Cobham today, with Cole Palmer remaining the centre of attention after his four-goal haul against the Toffees took his tally for the season to 23 in all competitions.
