The majority of our international players were back at Cobham this morning as training ramped up ahead of Arsenal’s visit to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo were in action in South America overnight so they are yet to join up with the squad, but Reece James was involved in the session at an overcast Cobham. Our club captain hasn’t featured since the opening weekend of the season due to a hamstring injury.

Fellow defender Axel Disasi missed the international break due to a problem with his quadriceps, but he too was out on the grass. The Frenchman has not missed a minute of league football for us this season.

Armando Broja was another who didn’t represent his country in the past week, having had to withdraw from the Albania squad.

Broja started our two away wins prior to the break and he was put through his paces this morning as he continues to build towards full fitness following the ACL injury he sustained last year.

It was a special Friday night for Levi Colwill. He played his first game for the senior England team, deployed at left-back as they beat Australia 1-0 at Wembley.

‘It was amazing,’ said Colwill.

‘A win and a clean sheet is the best way to have a debut. We put in a performance we can be proud of and we have just got to build from there.’

Despite the drizzle, Mauricio Pochettino and his men were certainly enjoying themselves –and after three straight wins, why not?!

Now the challenge is to overcome our London rivals at Stamford Bridge and register a statement victory at the start of a tough run of fixtures before the next break for international football.
