Chelsea completed preparations for tomorrow's UEFA Conference League quarter-final first leg against Legia Warsaw at Cobham this morning – and then departed for Poland.
Having finished top of the league stage and defeated Copenhagen in the first knockout round, our European campaign resumes this week.
We will be away in the Polish capital for that quarter-final first leg early on Thursday evening, but first Enzo Maresca and his squad were busy preparing for the trip under the sun at Cobham.
As always in European competition, the first 15 minutes of training took place in front of the media, before the real work got underway behind closed doors.
Among those taking part was defender Benoit Badiashile, who underlined the team’s determination to progress in the build-up to this week’s Conference League tie, aiming to go all the way in this competition.
‘It’s been going really well. We’ve won every game. The start of the competition has been flawless so far – despite the fact that we could have played some games slightly better,’ said Badiashile.
‘But ultimately, the win is what counts. We are really pleased with our performance so far, but it’s not over yet.
‘We still have a lot of games to go before we can win the trophy. We’re going to give everything we’ve got to win it because it’s an important objective for us.
‘I’m going to give my all with the team to win this trophy, because we have what it takes.’
After putting the finishing touches on their preparations under the watchful eye of Maresca and his coaching staff, the Blues have departed Cobham for the journey to Poland, where our head coach and one of his players will conduct their pre-match press conference, which you can watch live on the official Chelsea website from 6.45pm UK time.
The match itself kicks off at 5.45pm UK time on Thursday and you can follow all the build-up, action and reaction on matchday as it happens in our Legia Warsaw vs Chelsea Match Centre.
