Chelsea were out on the Cobham training pitch for a late session on Friday afternoon, making their final preparations for tomorrow's FA Cup semi.

Chelsea make the short trip across west London to Wembley Stadium on Saturday to face Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals, with kick-off at 5.15pm.

They spent Friday putting their plans for that big game into place out on the training pitch at Cobham, with a later than usual start in the afternoon.

It comes at the end of a good week for the Blues at Cobham and Stamford Bridge, as we carried the boost from our 6-0 thrashing of Everton on Monday evening - thanks to four goals from Cole Palmer and strikes by Nicolas Jackson and Alfie Gilchrist - through our preparations to face Manchester City.

‘I am happy in the way that we have trained this week and with the way we played against Everton. It was an amazing game,' said Mauricio Pochettino.

‘We need to translate that tomorrow in a game that is going to be really difficult. It is the semi-final, but it’s like a final because it’s a game you need to win to go through. So we will need to have the energy and the capacity to fight.’

We return to Wembley for the second time this season, following the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool a couple of months ago, and Pochettino also hoped that experience will help the players be more relaxed this time around.

‘The experience could be a good point for the team,’ he added. ‘Maybe for the players that repeat and have the possibility to play again, they will know what it means to play at Wembley. That could help them rest more, be calm, and approach the game in a different way.'

So far he seems to have got his wish, with the Blues looking at ease at Cobham a day before the big kick-off. That was shown when Thiago Silva took over photographer duties to catch his team-mates in a relaxed mood in the boot room before heading out onto the training pitch.

There was also the welcome sight of Christopher Nkunku out on the grass with his team-mates following his return to partial training, although Pochettino made it clear we will still have to be patient before seeing in match action again following injury.

‘With Nkunku it is about assessing him day by day and in the last few days he has had the possibility to be involved in some part of the training sessions.'

‘Now we need to see the reaction of his body and then how he is going to evolve. We hope we can recover him and have him available before the season finishes.’
