Enzo Maresca and his squad have been hard at work at Cobham preparing for our first away trip of the season, against Wolverhampton Wanderers in tomorrow's Premier League fixture.
The Blues secured our first win of the season in midweek, when we opened our European campaign with a 2-0 victory over Servette at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of our UEFA Conference League play-off.
Now we are hoping to follow that by picking up our first Premier League points of the season when we travel to Molineux and beginning to build some momentum.
Maresca named a much-changed team for Thursday's Conference League tie and several of the players who started last week's league game against Manchester City will be hoping to return to the line-up tomorrow, including full-backs Marc Cucurella and Malo Gusto.
Noni Madueke impressed when he came off the bench to score our second goal against Servette and will hope to be involved again, with Maresca discussing the winger's progress after that midweek game.
‘I really like Noni,' said our head coach. 'The only problem with Noni is he has to understand he has to be consistent during the week, every training, every training, every training, but he is a good player and he is doing well since he started with us. He is the kind of player I like.'
There was also the welcome sight of Cole Palmer joining his team-mates on the training pitch ahead of the trip to Wolves, reinforcing Maresca's initial assessment that the knock the England international suffered against Servette was not serious.
‘Cole felt something but he looks fine. They already checked him, he looks okay, hopefully it’s not any problem and he can be available for Sunday’s game.’
New signing Joao Felix has also been training with the Blues, adjusting to a fresh system after returning from Atletico Madrid for a second spell at Chelsea, with the hope of making his second debut as soon as possible.
‘In terms of knowing the way we’re going to play, he is probably not ready yet,' added Maresca. 'In terms of physicality, he is ready because he was already playing games there, so it’s just to understand if he needs more time to understand the way we’re going to play. But, overall, I think he can play.'
