A hot and humid Philadelphia morning greeted Enzo Maresca and his Chelsea players as our preparations for Tuesday's Club World Cup clash against ES Tunis stepped up.
After starting the tournament with a 2-0 win over Los Angeles FC in Atlanta, a setback was suffered in our last outing as Brazilian club Flamengo secured a 3-1 victory at Lincoln Financial Field.
Our final Group D outing also takes place in Philly, and we will come up against the Tunisian champions. A reaction is required from Maresca's side.
'The game is very important,' the Blues head coach said after our defeat to Flamengo. 'We want to go through to the next stage, but we have to win on Tuesday.'
Marc Cucurella echoed that sentiment. ‘If we win the next game, then we will go through,' the Spain international said.
'It [suffering a defeat] is better to happen now, in this stage of the tournament, rather than in the later rounds. So, we can learn and improve now, and we can still go through.'
Romeo Lavia was among those involved in today's session, which took place at the training base of MLS side Philadelphia Union, as was Blues winger Pedro Neto.
The Portugal international has made an important impact Stateside, with two goals scored in our opening two matches. And he is grateful for the chance to compete in this summer's tournament.
He said: 'We have to be thankful; we are here playing this tournament. There would be a lot of players who would love to be in my place [at the Club World Cup].
'We are Chelsea, we play to win, and we have an unbelievable team. We have to continue to win, to gain experience, to have matches in our legs, to continue to work hard, and to be consistent.'
Ahead of our final Group D fixture, Maresca will face the media, and you can watch the Italian's pre-match press conference live on the Official Chelsea App and Official Chelsea website.
We will also bring you live training from Philadelphia and pre-match interviews with several members of the Blues squad
