The Chelsea squad continued their hard work at Cobham this morning, with our Carabao Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley now firmly on the horizon.

Just two days remain until we walk out under the famous arch to face Jurgen Klopp's side – and Pochettino and his players were all pushing themselves in their preparations for the game.

Goalkeepers Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez both took part in the session. Each has played three times in our run to Wembley, and it was the former's heroics in the penalty shootout against Newcastle United that saw us through in the quarter-finals.

Pochettino confirmed Sanchez was back in contention to feature before our trip to Manchester City last weekend, but the Spaniard ultimately missed the battling draw for personal reasons.

However, the duo – and the rest of the Chelsea squad – will have to wait before finding out who will take to the field on Sunday.

'No not yet,' replied Pochettino when asked at his pre-match press conference if he had told the players the starting XI. 'Not yet because we always think about the connection, the communication, you know?

'Anything can happen. I prefer tomorrow or maybe even after tomorrow.'

Malo Gusto, who has hugely impressed in our recent outings, is one of those hoping to walk out at Wembley for the Blues for the very first time.

'It's a big opportunity,' he said. 'After this game, it's not finished but we have to win this trophy for us and the fans because they are waiting a lot for this team because we are young.

'This trophy can be important for everyone for the rest of the season and the club.'

Thiago Silva – and also Marc Cucurella, who hasn't featured since early December – was out on the grass today in partial team training.

Silva has made progress in his recovery since suffering a groin issue during the 3-1 win at Crystal Palace and Pochettino confirmed a final decision over his involvement would be made tomorrow.

'Thiago has a chance, tomorrow we will see if he is ready to be involved in the game,' he said.

After winning impressively on the road against Aston Villa, overcoming Crystal Palace late on, and earning a battling point against Manchester City at the Etihad, confidence among the Blues squad is high.

And Pochettino believes our most recent meeting against Liverpool, which came at Anfield at the end of January, will have no bearing on events at Wembley.

'It's true that this game is different,' explained Pochettino. 'It's never the same approach playing in the Premier League and in a final, particularly in a neutral place like Wembley.

'Of course, it will be different. You always learn from the games you play, too many things. We arrive in this game in different circumstances. So it is difficult to compare and say that games that we played in the past will have an influence.

'We learned Liverpool is a very competitive team, so we need to match that. We need to manage some moments during the games. But I think in the last few weeks, we have learned a lot and will arrive with very good momentum and in good condition.'
