A training session under the lights at Cobham enabled Mauricio Pochettino and his Chelsea players to complete their preparation for tomorrow's trip to Luton Town.

The day started in the gym for the first-team squad before the players continued their work on the floodlit pitches at our training base.

There was the welcome sight of Enzo Fernandez back in training. The Argentine was absent for our previous two matches, away to Wolverhampton Wanderers and at home to Crystal Palace.

Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer also took part in the session. The duo missed the victory over Crystal Palace due to suspension but will be in contention to return to the side at Kenilworth Road.

After an impressive cameo appearance in midweek, Noni Madueke will be hopeful of earning a start against Luton. Yet the winger is ready to make another impact off the bench if required.

‘It’s been a stop-start campaign for me,' the 21-year-old said on Wednesday evening. 'I’ve had little niggles, little injuries, things that haven’t quite gone my way.

'I'm happy to have an impact off the bench [against Crystal Palace] and whether I start the next game – or have the same impact off the bench – is up to the manager.'

There was a full Chelsea debut for Christopher Nkunku last time out. The Frenchman completed 71 minutes at Stamford Bridge and showcased his undoubted quality in the build-up to Mykhailo Mudryk's opener.

'It meant a lot to me [to make my first start],' said the forward. 'I'm very happy because it has been six months since I started a game. I feel good and the most important thing is I don’t feel any issues after the game, so we are concentrating on improving.'

While the focus was on Luton for the majority of those involved in the session, Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka were out on the grass as they continued their respective recoveries from injury.

Chilwell has been sidelined since the end of September while Chukwuemeka hasn't featured since the second game of the campaign – away to West Ham United – due to a knee injury.
