The Chelsea Foundation has established the programme in six schools and is now launching the seventh at a school in Farnham, Surrey.

The Chelsea Champion Programme is a Premier League funded project, with the aim of improving the emotional wellbeing and resilience of young people by offering secondary schools a unique timetable of activities.

Senior project officer Jonny Drabble said: ‘We are delighted to expand the programme into More House, we have already seen a big impact within the school and it’s great to see the pupils and staff respond positively.’

Lewis Clarkson, deputy head and teacher at More House School said: ‘The Chelsea Champion programme has been a real game-changer for the pupils at More House School since it began in September.

‘The confidence and expertise shown towards pupils with a range of educational needs has been exceptional and we have recognised significant engagement from those most involved in the programme.’
