The Chelsea Foundation have been hard at work in Hammersmith and Fulham over the festive period, putting together Christmas hampers alongside local community group Let Me Play Action, Casual Ballerz, and other local schools and organisations.

Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith played host, and pupils from the school, as well as Fulham Boys School, supported the efforts packing hampers and loading trucks ready for distribution around the borough before Christmas. The packages were filled with donated items such as tinned food, drinks, chocolates, as well as gifts from Chelsea FC Foundation.

Chelsea FC Foundation regularly encourage its staff and participants to make a positive impact on their local community through social action initiatives. Partnerships with local organisations like Let Me Play really support our ability to be able to engage young people on such projects.

David Armstrong, who is the senior project officer at the Chelsea FC Foundation, said: ‘It was fantastic to see Let Me Play put this social action piece together and we are happy we have been able to support with volunteers for this amazing cause. Hopefully in the new year we can form more local partnerships and come together to do more good in the community.’

Natalie Glasby, programme manager for LMP Action, added: ‘Let Me Play were so pleased that over 1000 Winter Festive Fun bags were made and delivered across Hammersmith & Fulham to those families most in need.

‘This couldn’t have been done without the support of our local partnerships such as Chelsea FC Foundation, who provided vital support with packing and delivering these bags. This project was a great example of the community coming together at such a challenging time for many families.’
