CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on a construction site have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site.The Foundation has been working with TFL for two years, offering seven industry-based qualifications including the CSCS card, with participants also given support with construction job opportunities.Hassan Ibrahim completed the course in December, before passing the CSCS test and is now looking at apprenticeship opportunities.He said: ‘I found both the Chelsea and TFL parts of the course seamless and both were integral to me getting the qualifications and get my card first time.‘I’m looking at entry level jobs to get me on side and ultimately an apprenticeship in a particular craft.’Martin Burrows, employability tutor for the Chelsea Foundation, said: ‘The Chelsea CSCS project in partnership with TFL has proved to be a very successful and positive venture.‘We are helping to equip future construction workers with the knowledge, qualifications and most importantly the CSCS card, all needed to survive and flourish in the industry.‘The knowledge that we are making a difference to people’s lives in such difficult times gives such satisfaction to what we do.’For more information on our programme with TFL, email [email protected] out how the Chelsea Foundation is supporting the community during lockdown through the delivery of a range of programmes hereAs we continue to help those most in need, the Foundation has now called on fans to help support our wider communities and increase the number of people helped.
