The must-haves

Cole Palmer (£9.7m) continues to show consistency, picking up his fourth attacking return of the season in the entertaining 2-2 draw against Hull City in Gameweek 4. Chelsea’s attack has scored a whopping 18 goals in six matches under Xabi Alonso.

Our number 10 had three shots on goal and created three chances at Stamford Bridge - no Chelsea player could better that in Gameweek 4. Averaging nearly seven points per match, Cole is currently on course to surpass his best-ever Fantasy season of 244 points in 2023/24, where he racked up 22 goals and 13 assists.

Most popular Chelsea player of the week

No player has been transferred in by more Fantasy managers than Morgan Rogers (£7.7m) ahead of the Gameweek 5 deadline. Nearly 500,000 people have moved to bring Chelsea’s summer signing into their team; he now sits in just under 40% of squads.

Rogers is the only player to register an attacking return (three goals and one assist) in each of the first four Gameweeks. Against Hull last time out, the Englishman scored and claimed a share of the bonus points. 

Among Blues players, Rogers ranks first for chances created (10) and passes into the penalty box (11). This demonstrates his strong assist potential ahead of Friday’s fixture against Brentford. In an Aston Villa shirt, the Chelsea number 17 netted twice against the Bees in the Premier League.

Best value-for-money Chelsea pick

Playing regularly at wing-back, Pedro Neto (£6.5m) has, in recent matches, scored the Blues’ second goal against Brighton and netted in the Carabao Cup, as well as hitting the post at Arsenal with an unfortunate first-half effort.

No Blues player has registered more successful passes in the final third (50) than Neto. The Portugal international is one to watch as he is the cheapest Blues attacker in FPL to have started a league game so far. 

In goal, Emi Martinez (£5.0m) has picked up a save point in each of his three appearances for the club, racking up 15 saves in all. No goalkeeper has made more saves in that time. When the Blues begin keeping clean sheets, Martinez’s ceiling will be high. At £5.0m, he is cheaper than most other goalkeepers playing for top-four contending teams.

Captain's pick

As usual, Erling Haaland (£15.5m) is a key contender in the captaincy conversation ahead of Manchester City’s home fixture against Sunderland. The Norwegian has racked up some impressive underlying numbers, ranking first among all players for shots (16), shots on target (9) and big chances (7).

Haaland has scored in three consecutive Gameweeks, claiming the maximum three bonus points on each occasion. The Black Cats have conceded in both their away matches this season.

Elsewhere, Morgan Gibbs-White (£8.0m) is an intriguing option against Coventry City. The English midfielder has registered three attacking returns in the last three Gameweeks and takes penalties for Nottingham Forest.

A home fixture against bottom-of-the-table Coventry, who conceded five goals last time out, looks primed for attacking returns. No player has created more big chances (4) so far this season than Gibbs-White, who has been bought by over 370,000 Fantasy managers.
