There is less than a week left to select your Fantasy Premier League team for the start of the season and we have picked out some of the Chelsea players outside the highest prices who would provide excellent value for money in any fantasy squad.

We have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to provide supporters with some Blues-themed tips and advice for the Fantasy Premier League, particularly useful at this time of year as fans around the world finalise their selections for the coming season, which begins this weekend.

With expensive assets like Joao Pedro (£7.5m), Cole Palmer (£9.5m) and Morgan Rogers (£7.5m) already at the forefront of FPL managers' minds, it is important not to forget about the more affordable assets, who might not be as obvious point earners but provide excellent value for money.

Making the right decisions about the best £6m-and-under players can be the difference when it comes to getting off to a great start to the FPL season and competing at the top of your Mini-Leagues right from the first match week.

New Chelsea signing Maxence Lacroix (£6m) could be a fantastic option for FPL managers. The Frenchman was the eighth-highest-scoring defender in the Fantasy Premier League last season with 154 points. He was also the third-best defender in the league for defensive contribution points, registering 40.

Fellow summer signing Marco Palestra (£5.5m) is £0.5m cheaper than Lacroix and has the additional FPL appeal of being able to play on both sides of the pitch. He was the second-fastest player in Serie A and could bring plenty of FPL points under manager Xabi Alonso, who has played with attacking full-backs or wing-backs in the past.

In midfield, Moises Caicedo (£5.5m) also offers good value for money. The midfielder accumulated 26 defensive contribution points last season, in addition to scoring three goals and registering an assist.
