Chelsea's 2026/27 away kit made its debut on the pitch as our pre-season preparations continued with a competitive fixture against local rivals Tottenham Hotspur in Sydney.

It was the first time this London derby had been played outside of the capital as we went head-to-head in the Sydney Super Cup in Australia and as usual there was no love lost between the two sides, regardless of the venue, as shown by the red card received by Spurs defender Kevin Danso.

That came early in the second half, by which time Tottenham had gone ahead through Sandro Tonali's deflected shot and Chelsea had struck back to level the scores, when Estevao Willian headed in a Jamie Gittens cross at the back post.

After a number of late changes in personnel by the Blues, Tottenham's Richarlison eventually found a winning goal in added time, but the competitive nature of the match will serve Xabi Alonso's team well in their preparations for the coming campaign.
