Chelsea players returned to Cobham on Thursday morning and quickly got to work under Xabi Alonso.
Thursday saw the majority of Chelsea's players return to Cobham for the first time this summer and it was also the squad's first chance to meet new manager Alonso.
After completing some routine medical testing, the players headed out to the grass on a scorching hot day at our training base.
As well as undertaking the usual fitness work to be expected at the beginning of pre-season, the players got to work with the ball. It provided Alonso with a first opportunity to get his ideas across to the group.
The likes of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Estevao Willian were all involved in the first session of the summer, as were new arrivals Emmanuel Emegha and Geovany Quenda. Also among the group was Dastan Satpayev after FC Kairat kindly granted permission for him to link up with the squad early.
The Blues were wearing our new 2026/27 Nike training collection, which is available to supporters now.
We have compiled 25 of the best images from the session, so sit back, relax and enjoy!
