As has become customary in recent years, Chelsea Women rounded off the season by lifting a trophy. Only this time, it came at the end of the World Sevens Football tournament in London.

Having recorded victories over Everton and Leicester City on Thursday and defeating London City Lionesses on Friday, the Blues returned for day three of the competition, which was held at Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium.

Our first assignment was a semi-final against Aston Villa, which we emphatically won 8-2 to set up a showpiece game against Manchester United.

The Red Devils started well and raced into a 4-1 lead, but the Blues fought back to level the game by the half-time interval. In the second period, United established a one-goal advantage, which they held until late on before Aggie Beever-Jones equalised.

And, as the game entered its final 60 seconds, the Blues forward struck again to seal victory and ensure we became the first English club to lift the trophy.
